Hello! I’m Vicki, the photographer behind Vicki Maher Photography. I’m all about capturing the real moments that make your wedding day yours—the laughter, the hugs, the dance-offs, and everything in between. I love my job so very much and will never forget how much of a privilege it is to be a wedding photographer, being there for those special little moments that no one else sees. Photography is the best job in the world.
I realised very quickly that 99.9% of my couples do not feel comfortable in front of a camera, so I ensure my approach keeps this in mind. Let’s be honest, everyone wants photos, but no one wants to be in them.
I am aware that even if you decide I am ‘the one’… after your significant other of course, you don’t want to spend your entire day with me. I make sure that your couples photos take up minimal time and are just a bit of craic. That is what gets those dreamy, natural shots that lured you here after all.
Family photos are the same, I like to do what I call conveyor belt style, one in, one out and get them done as quick as possible so the party can resume.
I know that your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, but that doesn’t mean it needs to be stressful or overly posed. I work with couples who want to have fun, enjoy the moment, and focus on what really matters: each other and your guests. My goal is to be a fly on the wall, blending in and capturing those candid, unscripted moments that show off the fun and relaxed vibe of your big day… Lurking I believe is the professional term.
I am based in Belfast but travel worldwide. I’ve been lucky enough to work with many laidback couples just like you who want to focus on enjoying their day to the fullest. I take a laidback approach to photography, helping you feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera while still capturing all the love, joy, and celebration around you.
